The Worship Choir goes way beyond singing, it’s purpose is to worship and to bring freedom of expression and energy to LifePoint Church. For more information on LifePoint’s philosophy of musical worship and leading musical worship please click here.
Worship Choir FAQ
1.) What is the time commitment?
For the day the choir is scheduled you will be expected to be on stage by 8:15am ready to rehearse. You will also be expected to lead with the choir in both the 9:30 and 11 worship gatherings (you can leave after the music of the 11am worship gathering).
2.) Can I still sing with the worship choir if I need to be late to rehearsal, or if I can only sing at one worship gathering?
If you are late to rehearsal or if you can only sing at one service, we ask that you not sing that week. Since the choir plays such a critical role in worship and since rehearsal is so short every minute counts. Even missing 5 minutes could make a critical difference.
4.) What can I do to be prepared to lead?
The LifePoint Church Music Ministry uses an online database called Planning Center (PC) to disseminate music/information and for scheduling. Each choir member will be assigned a PC username and password. While you can log in any time to see your schedule, you will receive a reminder email on the Monday of the week that you are invited to serve. It is critical that you click “accept” or “decline” to your PC invitation. After confirming you will be able to download music, lyrics and even stream song files in appropriate keys.
Please note that you can not download the songs, as this breaks copyright laws.
5.) What if I am not a great singer, but I am passionate about worshiping through music may I still be involved?
YES! Our only requirement is that you are willing to express who God is and what God has done in your life through singing.
6.) Is there a dress code for the stage?
Men: No shorts, or tank tops
Women: Dresses and skirts are permitted but must be ankle length. Please do not wear any tops that reveal cleavage while standing or leaning over.
7.) How old do I have to be in order to be a part?
In order to be a part of the LifePoint Worship Choir you must be at least sixteen years old.
Please contact Jon or Shane if you are interested in being a part of the Worship Choir.
