Acts Too
A lot of times we are asking a question without actually verbalizing it — “what about me?” In this series, we are going to answer that question — what should your life in the Kingdom resemble as we look at the lives of the first century Christians in the book of Acts…join us for this spiritually formative series!
When Peter and John heal a lame man in Acts 4, the leaders are greatly annoyed and forbid them to do what God had commanded them to do. We’ll see how they respond and how we should respond when faith and governmental authority collide.
Simon Peter and John heal a man at the Beautiful Gate in God’s power and not their own…we’ll talk about the role of prayer and healing in the early days of the New Testament church as well as our own.
On the Day of Pentecost, God inaugurated the church’s ministry by introducing the Holy Spirit in a visible way to all believers…we learn that miraculous events are no shortcut to spiritual transformation.
As the book of Acts opens, Jesus promises His followers power that will influence eternity as they become the “church” that He designed and defined.

United
All over the world today there are groups of people meeting…for business…for entertainment…for encouragement. How is it that this a first century small group of 12 did something that lasted for centuries? Their group was different…they understood the power of unity. That’s very different than uniformity…they were different people standing together United!
Jesus said that we are salt and light. But what does that really mean. This message seeks to answer that question while talking about our core value of global responsibility.
Jesus could have done salvation alone…instead He invited and involved us! He chose an unlikely cast of characters to work with and they eventually became authentic growing believers who left their mark on the world.
God has called us to serve the Body…to do what only we can do and watch Him do what only He can do. In the miraculous feeding of the 5,000, Jesus stretched the Disciples’ faith just like He wants to stretch ours.
A church has to in sync without everyone being the same. One of the core identities that we must be on the same page about is the Scriptures. Jesus valued the application of the Scriptures and not just the knowledge of them. Those who apply them will be “like a wise man who builds his house on the rock.”

God’s heart is for the world and there is going to global diversity on display in eternity. We will learn how God has shown His eternal purpose for mankind through different trees in Scripture.
God has called us to reach THE world and not just our own world. At LifePoint, that means He has asked us to go to mid-Ohio, the Midwest, and the World.

Kingdom Come
The Lord’s Prayer is repeated daily by countless thousands of people around the world at weddings, funerals, church services, before meals, and at kids’ bedtimes. But what if those aren’t just words to repeat? What if Jesus’ words reveal all of God’s purpose for the world…His purpose for you personally…join us as we study the greatest prayer ever!
Oscar Wilde said, “I can resist anything but temptation.” Jesus had a lot to say about dealing with our desires…that’s why He closes the Lord’s Prayer with temptation in mind.
Forgiveness has two sides: us and God & then us and others. We look at how the Lord’s prayer says the two are connected.
In this sermon we look at Matthew 6:11. We see that Jesus is teaching us that we can trust God for our daily bread. As we trust God, we become more able to worship, find satisfaction, and be generous.
In this message, we discover the link that exists between God’s Kingdom realities working in this world and God’s will being accomplished in our lives personally. Jesus was the Kingdom-bringer who brought Heaven to Earth.
In the second stanza of Jesus’ model prayer, He tells us to “hallow” God’s name. He meant for us to make God’s name the most important one in our lives because that honors God and is best for us.
The essence of Kingdom living is life with God. The Lord’s prayer teaches us first that we must primarily view God as our Father.

The Road Less Traveled
Destinations are ultimately determined by the daily decisions that we make. In this series we will take a closer look at how we can make the best decisions possible. We will study Solomon — a man the Bible refers to as wisest person who ever lived. At the same time, Solomon made some decisions the led him down the wrong roads. Join us as we learn to take the road less traveled.
How do you respond to Jesus? We respond to Jesus everyday, whether we realize it or not. Are you skeptical? Curious? Faithful? This message studies Luke 5:17–26 and uses it to help us answer the question: “How have I been responding to Jesus?”
We learn from Solomon that whoever or whatever gets our attention influences the direction of our lives…that we have a choice to follow Cain’s road or Abel’s road.
Solomon encourages us to learn to lean on God’s wisdom and not our own…we need Him in our areas of strength and our areas of weakness. We see this in an example of how Jacob learned that God was the greatest blessing in his life.
Solomon teaches us about the wisdom road…that our roads determine our reality and that our direction trumps our intention. Solomon displays wisdom in his decision between two women and points us to the ultimate wisdom found in Christ.
The book of Proverbs tells us that to find wisdom is better than finding silver or gold but no one ever stumbles into a life marked by wisdom it has to be sought after and pursued. In 2 Chronicles 1, Solomon asks God for wisdom and in his request he sets a great example for us of what it means to pursue wisdom in our own lives. Not everyone can become famous, wealthy or well educated but God’s promise is that anyone who truly seeks wisdom can become wise.

Job learns that wisdom is the key to enduring suffering. He learns to expect it because we live between the ideal world and the real world. Job like Jesus trusted God in the dark, so we can do the same.
Job learns that a relationship with God is more important than an answer from God. God uses suffering yield beauty and better resurrection than we can imagine.
In middle of the worst circumstances, we need comfort…comfort that comes from God straight to us from the cross. The second kind of comfort we receive is the kind that comes from others…as we see with Job’s friends, it’s never perfect but it’s necessary for us to grow.
Pain and suffering cause problems for everyone but especially for people who believe in God. “Why him…why her…why me…why now…why this,” are questions we all ask. Job teaches us that even though we have typical answers, God atypical when it comes to life’s most painful moments. What we mostly need is proof from God instead of answer from him.

The Wall
The greatest things in our lives are built piece-by-piece. God reveals Himself throughout time as a master carpenter using each scene and circumstance to take us another step. As we look at the book of Nehemiah, we will be amazed at how God brings everything in Nehemiah’s experience to bear on this great cause. We’ll learn about the reality that Nehemiah’s cause 2500 years ago is that same cause that we are fighting for today.
Nehemiah comes back to town only to realize that the people have forgotten God, which is the worst sin. He confronts the people and they repent…on the anniversary of 9–11, we remember our tendency to forget God as well and learn how the break out of the cycle of crisis Christianity.
God is constantly teaching us and reminding us about Him and how we can respond to Him. This message looks at the lessons that the Israelites and Nehemiah learn in Nehemiah 13:1–14 and challenges us to work restoration in our lives while being desperate for God and His grace.
The people of Israel worship God and dedicate their walls to Him…the people of LifePoint do the same!
The Hebrew people make a covenant with God to lead their families, observe the Sabbath, and offer Him the First Fruits…three seemingly disconnected things that all work in step together.
As we look at the longest prayer in the Old Testament, we learn that not only is God always communicating but so are we because we are created in His image. We will talk about what prayer is and what prayer is not as well as how Jesus is the One who gives us access to God.
As the Jewish people re-gather in Jerusalem and interact with the Scriptures, the men begin to lead their families to follow the Feast of Booths which is a reminder of God’s Presence. In the same way, men today should lead and follow God’s Word and live in God’s Presence.
Nehemiah led the people to re-build the walls around in Jerusalem in only 52 days but that was only the beginning of his vision. Nehemiah hoped that if the walls could be re-built, the people would be reminded of God’s goodness and they would worship Him. Out of that worship would come a contagious joy that would make a difference in the world.
Nehemiah had a secret weapon in his fight to complete the walls around Jerusalem…he mastered the IT factor. He had discernment — the unique God-given ability to know things you don’t normally know. That discernment came from the fact that he had a different kind of authority…in this message we will learn how we can gain this same kind of authority in our lives.
When a sinful pattern or activity begins in your life, it starts small. Then it grows well, and as time passes it roots deep. King David’s decision to sleep with Bathsheba (another man’s wife) provides a powerful example of how one sin can consume and then wreck the lives of individuals and their families. Take a listen to this study of 2 Samuel 11 to see how David’s sin (and its aftermath) play out.
Your vision will be challenged on a number of fronts…there will be circumstances and external opposition to change from the outside. There will also be opposition internally when confusion and competing agendas compromise the picture. In this message, we’ll learn how to deal with these challenges.
Sometimes we face clouds of opposition when we pursue the vision of God’s plan for our lives and Nehemiah gives us some principles for pressing on with courage and pushing through toward clarity.
Big vision always has big opposition…but when you learn how much people matter to God, you realize that what He wants is love not religion.
Nehemiah teaches us about how our circumstances don’t determine our vision…what we believe about our circumstances determines whether of not we will accomplish the vision God has given to us.

Culturally, we are saturated in sexuality while the church at large remains relatively silent…in this message we will look at what happened with Lot in Sodom & Gomorrah so that we don’t repeat their mistakes.
